Do you think that "blogging will eat itself"?? As a very new blogger on the block, I'm continually amazed at how self-referential it all is. Bloggers blog and just talk about blogging with other bloggers!
Having said that I'm starting to really get in to it now so I'II just go and check out those sites you mentioned!

I wonder with the proliferation of blogs all over the place will they sort of implode in on themselves or just float around unread in cyber space unless they're for an express purpose- such as an education subject/topic.
